PREY FOR MASON is a feature-length, teen horror/psychological-thriller that blurs the lines between fiction and reality. Five teenagers partying at a lake house are terrorized by their insensitive, jock friend who, before he can make amends for a misunderstanding, overdoses on the “zombie” drug Flakka.

“Pray v. Prey” is a teaser for a short film, proof-of-concept based on the feature Prey for Mason that’s now raising finishing funds on LOOR TV. Here’s the preview, “Pray v. Prey.”

Director’s Note: Horror is an interesting genre because it allows a real portrayal of the evil that actually exists in our world, along with the role we all play to stand up to that evil, and it allows spiritual topics to be discussed more openly. Horror movies of any kind might not be your favorite genre, but it has its place in storytelling. The bath salt Flakka is known as a “gateway” drug and some think it opens the door to demonic possession because of the loss of control it causes. Our movie understands Flakka to simply be a mind-altering drug, but, our characters view the zombified Mason from different viewpoints, ranging from scientific observation to religious superstition to mockery. Our main character Lucas changes from a judgmental to a compassionate person who strives to love his greatest enemy, the childhood bully who now terrorizes him and his friends. Personally, I know that I am not always high in empathy for others, so I connect to Lucas who wants to give Mason a second chance — but it might be too late. I believe there are many interesting reasons to support Prey for Mason.

Director Ian Eyre’s career in entertainment spans over two decades of camera, special effects, stunts, screenwriting, producing and directing. Ian spawns action-based horror movies with stunt performing and/or stunt rigging expertise on “The Walking Dead,” “NOS4A2” and Christmas Bloody Christmas. Ian won two SAG Awards nominations: “Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble for The Walking Dead in 2016” and “Best Stunt Ensemble for Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in 2008,” and now stunt coordinates. As director, Ian won several awards for his short-action-thriller “Run Cholo Run” and gleaned pitching and writing experience as a Fellow of the 2015 PGA Diversity Workshop for Smash and Run.

Producer Brandon Riley line-produced Nefarious, and Shooting Heroin, and produced Saving Christmas Spirit, and Pardones By Grace.  Brandon is a seasoned film professional having worked with legends such as Dean Cundey (DOP for Jurassic Park & Back to the Future) and many talented actors including Andrew Lincoln, Tom Felton, Dean Cain, Stephen Baldwin, Donald Faison and Kevin Sorbo. He is also a member of the DGA and PGA and has written several screenplays and TV pilots.
